About Us

Congregation Anshai Torah has been the spiritual home to the Dallas Jewish Community since 1980 when Anshai Emet was formed.  In 1998 Congregation Shomray Torah was formed and later that year the two merged to form what is now Congregation Anshai Torah.  We now provide spiritual, educational, cultural, social activities, programs, and services to more than 550 families.

Guided by the principles of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism, Anshai Torah welcomes Jews of the widest possible demographic categories, young and young at heart, men and women, single and married, with children and without children, traditional observing and less traditional observing.

Anshai Torah is open to all, regardless of financial status.  Our congregants are asked and expected to contribute dues and donations based on our fee structure and their ability. Membership categories are designed to help with these commitments.

Members of Anshai Torah are privileged to have many opportunities to experience the joy of Jewish living.  Although our doors are open to the entire community for most of our programs and activities, daily minyans, and Shabbat services, we do have space considerations that require us to limit admissions to Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services.  Our Religious school enrollment are available only to members.  And only members enjoy the right to vote at congregational meetings and serve on the Board of Directors.  Members are encouraged to participate in many of our volunteer opportunities.

For more information about membership at Anshai Torah, contact our Membership Chair, Bonnie Rubinstein at Membership@anshaitorah.org.  She would be happy to meet with you, show you around our synagogue, and discuss opportunities to join.
